About Us Healthy Drumming Circles are led by Sal Núñez, Ph.D. Sal is a psychologist, consultant, researcher, and professor with special interest in clinical cultural practices, health, neuropsychology, indigenous and behavioral medicine, and medicinal drumming as a healing methodology. Over the course of a decade, he developed a drumming practice that integrates behavioral medicine, indigenous schema, and psychological principles. Sal continues to investigate the curative properties of specific percussive patterns, songs, and rhythms. He is also a recording and performing artist and has extensive experience tailoring drumming circles to meet the needs of participants. The circle is co-led by Edith Guillen-Núñez, M.S., J.D. Edith has a background in psychology, is a practicing attorney, consultant, and professor. She promotes transformation through empowerment. |
